Not unlike the time of the founding of the United States, the nation is in dire need of the Firebrand of the Revolution. The problems that the Founders, especially Samuel Adams, predicted would happen to the nation if the national government became overly centralized are upon us now. They feared that the individual States would be subsumed by the federal government and lose their perspective as well as their sovereign rights. Through designing men and women over the last century, the Founders concerns have come to full fruition today. Samuel Adams not only led the intellectual arguments for Liberty but was able to stimulate the passions of patriots for Liberty through the pursuit of individual rights and the rights of the States.
Samuel Adams Returns is a site that brings the actual words of Samuel Adams to the present regarding all the present relevant issues. The great Book of Wisdom states that "There is nothing new under the sun." Through a thorough study of the life and documents of Samuel Adams, Tom Niewulis, Jr. develops his alter-ego not only through rewriting and presenting the speeches for today's grass roots gatherings but acting out the life and words of Samuel Adams. Few realize that the Founding Fathers were well aware of every issue of life, morality, government, economics, culture and business issues. The real-life portrayal of Samuel Adams causes the people of today to hear from The Forgotten Patriot and see him speaking his own words and life instances in a way that resonates and captivates each listener.
In the present, 2010, we have seen sever partisan strife. These factions are polarizing just as they were in 1798 but the difference is not the Federalist positioned from the Anti-federalist; in the 21st century it is the democratic and fabian socialist, the interventionist and other anti-constitutional groups positioned contrary to the so called conservatives and absolutely contrary to the True Founders Constitutionalist. As with the turn of the 18th to the 19th Century, the 21st Century brings us to the defining lines of what form of government will prevail. In all cases, Samuel Adams would stand for the historical perspective of Individual Liberty and States Rights. In this site we will discuss the Rights as Mr. Adams argued them in various writings including the "Natural Rights of Colonist as Men," expand the perspective of "Loyalty and Sedition" as well as most all of his historical perspective on government, religion and education. Samuel Adams, like a number of his contemporaries, was so learned in the English Constitution and history that he could respond to most any cabal placed on the colonies that would violate the trust of the people in the leadership of the King or Parliament.
Even More So Why Now?
Unfortunately in our time, most federal politicians have not fully read let alone studied the Constitution. The disgusting truth is that a 5th grader in 1828 knew more about the Constitution than the leadership in the modern political parties do and they actually knew more than those serving in Congress today. The sad truth of what people don't understand is clearly shown in this survey: Center for the Constitution at James Madison's Montpelier, September 2010
One clear purpose of this web site is to educate the electorate, political leadership and develop statesmen/women according to our Founders Constitutional principles. To begin, the suggestion is that each person acquire the "Elementary Catechism on the United States Constitution" by Aurthur J. Stansbury from the Store. Additionally, other books and seminars will be introduced to assist each individual in learning what was intended for We The People to effectively self-govern.
The Return of Samuel Adams is to reignite the fires with the true intent of Liberty and set the course for the restoration of our Founder's Constitutional framework and intent for a free self-governed people.
Samuel Adams was clear in saying:
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."
"Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age, impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, of inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity and universal philanthropy, and, in subordination to these great principles, the love of their country; of instructing them in the art of self-government, without which they can never act as a wise part of the government of societies, great or small in short, of leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system."
"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."
