First Definition of Conundrum

When I consider what it takes to communicate Founders Intent via blogging in a media of a gazillion blogs the Conundrum comes to mind. As you may know, I like etymology. I think it is important to know where the word came from and its classical definition, pretty much so that I can understand what Founders Intent is for Constitutionalism as well as what did the Reformers intend in their writings.

With that explanation out of the way, I’m experiencing a Conundrum with conundrum according to its etymology which relates: “late 16th century: of unknown origin, but first recorded in a work by Thomas Nashe, as a term of abuse for a crank or pedant, later coming to denote a whim or fancy, also a pun. Current senses date from the late 17th century.” Yet the ‘Current sense first definition is: “a confusing and difficult problem or question.” See the problem? I know, you will most likely think: ‘not’. So why did I just waste two paragraphs on a work definition?

My dilemma in the conundrum with this blog in particular is that as we transfer everything from the old wordpress site to this one, I’m seeing that what was posted over the last five years is as relevant then as it is today. What that tells me is that the words of Sam Adams are timeless for our Republic. As you can see, we have been reposting entries according to their original dates and mixing it up with some that have to be reposted now.

In the end, it is the reality of Proverbs 1:9 that there is nothing new under the sun as well as what the Anti-federalists predicted that designing corrupt people would manipulate the very essence of the 1787 Constitution to instill tyranny, despotism and feudalism. I think I could recycle the fist five years of this blog and we would still be in the movie “Groundhog Day”.

At the end of the day, we shall see if we can restore the Republic to Founders Original Intent since the principles of good governance are timeless according to the wisdom and Word of God. Gee, that’s what the Founders believed!

We will keep the mix of Sam Adams words going and the reality that they apply to this very day and our present condition….. That being in the midst of the revolution of the mind so that we don’t have a revolution of arms.
